CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP CONCERTS IN THE PARK
Cheltenham Township once again offers free Concerts in the Park on five Sundays this summer. Except for the August 22 performance, the concerts will be held at beautiful Curtis Arboretum, located at 1250 W. Church Road in Wyncote, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The final concert will be held on the grounds of MossRehab/Einstein at Elkins Park, 60 Township Line Road in Elkins Park.
This year’s series features the following performers:
· June 27 Crazy Rhythm, Fancy Feet – Dixieland Jazz
· July 11 Wissahickon Chicken Shack – Bluegrass
· July 25 Phil Roy and His Band – Singer/Song Writer
· August 8 Folks Art Quartet – Chamber Grass
· August 22 Hot Club of Philadelphia – Gypsy Jazz.
In case of rain, all concerts will be held inside Curtis Hall. Lawn chairs, blankets and picnic suppers are welcome, but no alcohol is permitted. Beth Shalom Opens New Visitor Center
Beth Sholom Synagogue located at 8231 Old York Road in Elkins Park has opened up a new visitor center. The visitor experience includes a tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright Synagogue building plus 5 additional educational exhibits.
The highlight of the experience is a documentary film narrated by Leonard Nimoy. The building is a benchmark in Wright's career and in the story of American Judaism. The synagogue became a National Landmark in 2007.
Admission Fees: $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for seniors or students (with id) & groups of 10 or more
Hours: Sunday 10 - 4
Wed and Thursday 10 - 2, or by appointment
Asbourne Country Club Proposed Development
In brief, the plan as submitted to the Township for zoning relief calls for an age-restricted development of 103 building lots on 88.657 acres. Depending on market demand, each building lot would feature (1) a one-unit estate home, (2) two single-family homes or (3) three carriage homes per lot.
It also calls for an apartment complex for the remaining 15.836 acres fronting on Jenkintown Road and Front Street with a total of 11 buildings with 16 one- or two-bedroom apartments per building. Amenities would include a clubhouse, pool and landscaped seating area.

IRS Tax Credit Forms
The IRS just released the new forms and instructions for filing for the home purchase tax credits. The forms are for both credits, ($8,000 and $6,500) just click on the links and scroll through the information and you will see the guidelines. Purchasers can claim the credit on 2009 or 2010 tax return but must file a PAPER return (electronic not accepted due to additional documentation required)
